Brothers,
One of our dearest and most spirited Brothers, G. Gray Wendell, Jr., HZ 87, joined the Chapter Eternal on May 20th, 2008, after a long, hard battle with Alzheimer's.
All of those of us who had the good fortune to be in the Chapter along with Gray, will fondly recall the how spirited the "Animal" was, especially as he rushed opposing quarterbacks during flag football games! Brother Tony Dixon, HZ 75, has suggested the chapter create an "Animal" award to be given annually in Gray's memory, and I strongly second this!
Gray's wife, Christy, has asked for donations be given in Gray's memory to the Alzheimer's Foundation in lieu of flowers. She may be contacted at christywendell@aol.com.
If I have been able to follow the very simple directions, attachments will accompany this article giving Gray's obituary and the details of his son, Grayson's graduation from SMU on Saturday prior to Gray's passing on Tuesday.
My thoughts, prayers, and love go out to Christy, Grayson, and all those who loved Gray so much! I know heaven will be blessed immeasurably by this presence!
