Dart Christmas Project 2005

In conjunction with Dart's Amanda Maxwell, the chapter unanimously voted to provide Christmas for one young man in their program. This young man is being rewarded for his bravery in testifying against the
person who killed his mother," as quoted by Dart Representatives. Two
weeks before Christmas a delegation of Sigma Nu members including the
Commander, Luke Lockwood, and Adviser Joseph Reyes met at Amanda
Maxwell's office where they would then proceed in taking Matthew Noriega for his Christmas shopping. As Amanda Maxwell stated in the paper, "Christmas would not be the same with an 8 year old without gifts." Included
in the things purchased were several full sets of clothes, video games,
a new bike and towards then end he asked if he could get something for
his grandmother -- and of course we did. This story has
made it into newspapers from Shreveport to Monroe, but it is just one
of the projects that Sigma Nu has been participating with Dart. Miss
Maxwell has asked members to help with the Angel Program and a local
telethon with some of our members answering phones taking pledges. For more information on how you can help with the Dart program of Ruston, please use the contact page to contact an advisor.
