Thumbnail
On Saturday, 9/23/06, seventeen (17) HZ alumni and a large contingent of the Active Chapter met for lunch at the Sigma Nu House and then moved over to the Marbury Alumni Center for the inaugural meeting of the soon to be revived HZ Alumni Chapter. A Steering Committee was formed, composed of Brothers Lomax Napper, Faculty Adviser,  Brother Joe Reyes, Alumni Adviser, Brother Luke Lockwood, Alumni Chair, Brother Ryan Madden, Treasurer of the House Corporation, Kyle Galligan, current Active Chapter Commander, and myself, the newly elected Alumni Chapter Commander and President of the House Corporation. The Active Chapter will provide the Steering Committee with a Needs Assessment, and we will meet to come up with a list of recommendations to be presented to the Alumni Chapter at a gathering to be held at Squire Creek this Homecoming, October 14th.  The election of both Lieutenant Commander and Treasurer of the Alumni Chapter was postponed until the Homecoming meeting.

Alumni present at this inaugural meeting were as follows: Ryan Madden, Ron Clements, Harvey Patton, Brian Aday, John Calvin, Billy McConnell, Travis Napper, David Holland, Bud Richey, Kyle Edmiston, Kyle McDonald, Steve Bush, Marshall Napper, Joe Reyes, Lomax Napper, Don McGehee, and Lee Brantly.

Ron Clements won the award for the Brother traveling the longest distance coming all the way from Paris, France!

We need your support in manning several important committees in the coming days and months to further investigate where, when, and how to build and finance a new house, to plan our 50th Anniversary celebration, and to plan and implement plans to do everything possible to further our goal of building better men through the promulgation of the ideals of love, truth, and honor.

I will contact you re the particular committees established and give you the opportunity of joining those you are most interested in. Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in serving!!!

One of the ideas discussed at the meeting was to hold Regional gatherings frequently, and I will be back in touch soon to let you know more about these.
